fro-yo

but barely. It’s a long story that will be divulged in due time. Life is getting hectic, and I’m trying to avoid posting from work.

I’ve indulged in more frozen yogurt, pumpkin spice lattes and happy hour cocktails than I should be proud of, but it was worth every single bite/sip.

Once upon a time, I lived in Mira Mesa (a suburb of San Diego). If I had to guess, I’d say that about 6 or 7 self serve yogurt places opened up within 3 miles of our condo. This was awesome for my taste buds (but rough on my wallet and waistline)! I’d go once, twice, sometimes even three times a week and indulge in the 20+ flavors of yogurt and huge plethora of toppings.

It’s safe to say that it became quite the problem. It got to the point where I thought I was actually…sick and tired of fro-yo (i know, i know, i’m ashamed of myself for even thinking that!). I actually don’t think i’ve had fro-you since before we moved (6 months ago). I’m not even sure if I’ve even had it this year!

Don’t worry though, this story has a happy ending. I’ve been craving my long lost favorite treat, and today made the trek back out to Mira Mesa (a whole 15 minutes away, oh my! haha) to get a dose of fro-yo goodness. Granted, there is a self serve place near our new neighborhood, but it just isn’t the same…at most they might have 5 or 6 different flavors and the toppings are pretty scarce. Yogurtland was definitely worth the time and effort.

(sorry for the poor quality blackberry pic. I was ready to eat!)

Tart yogurt, blood orange tart, a splash of strawberry and just a bit of vanilla, with fruity pebbles, white chocolate and fruit to make it “healthy” (strawberries peaches, pineapples and lychee). The BF got a massive bowl and I couldn’t even keep up with all the toppings he put in it!

Yummmm. Fro-yo, i’m so sorry we’ve been apart for so long. It wasn’t you, it was me. But don’t worry, I’ll never leave you again. You + Me = US! Plus, pumpkin spice yogurt is back! I have epic visions of pumpkin spice mixed with NY cheesecake (pumpkin cheesecake!)

Not to leave anyone in the family out, Roxy (our furbaby) had a frozen treat tonight as well:

Now it’s time to rest up. I’ve been feeling exhausted and achy, which isn’t ideal two days before a 13.1 mile journey. Good night!
